The Secret to the Law of Attraction

Most of you are probably already familiar with the basic tenets of The Secret and The Law of Attraction, especially with all the attention paid to them these past few years.  Basically, these philosophies center around the idea that your thoughts create your world.  If you think it, it will happen; the universe will work to bring you the desires of your heart. 

OK, fine.  But there are a few more things you can, and maybe even must do to be successful in attracting that which you desire.  Speaking from personal experience as a perfecting AMORC Rosicrucian, and an entrepreneur who needs to understand the laws of attraction; I can personally vouch for the following methods. They really do work.  

Secrets to get the laws of attraction working for you sooner, rather than later - to receive that which you desire, you must:

1. Really want it
2. Really feel that you deserve it
3. Have a desire that is harmonious and congruent with spiritual principles of truth, beauty and goodness*
4. Prepare yourself by making room in your life for it
5. Find the energy to deal with it
6. Realize that you will be affected emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually
7. Be willing to change your life to accommodate it
8. Watch for and follow leads that bring you closer to your goals or desires

* Number 3 is probably the single most important secret to getting the law of attraction to work for you! 

The Secret or The Law of Attraction won't work very well if:

1. You feel weighed down, guilty, uncertain, unworthy, etc.
2. You are not graciously receptive while waiting
3. You have not made appropriate arrangements to receive your desire

Success looks and feels like: 

1. Harmony
2. Balance
3. Abundance
4. Joyfulness
5. Cheerfulness
6. Encouraging
7. Happiness
8. Hopeful
9. Spiritually true, beautiful and good

Relevant Rosicrucian friendly books on the laws of attraction:

1. Spiritual Laws That Govern Humanity and the Universe, by Lonnie C. Edwards, a longtime AMORC Rosicrucian:  Beautifully written book that will touch your heart.  God has created laws by which the universe is governed. Humanity has continued to set these laws into creative motion through thoughts, prayers, motives, intentions, voices, and beliefs. These are the right tools. In this book the student will learn how to use them always for the good.
2. The Secret Daily Teachings, by Rhonda Byrne:  Self-help book on the law of attraction as a groundbreaking and life-changing work, finding validation in its thesis that one's positive thoughts are powerful magnets that attract wealth, health, happiness.  This NEW book contains 365 brand new insights that build on The Secret's powerful truths.  In general, the philosophies found in The Secret are taught by the AMORC Rosicurcian tradition.
3. Law of Attraction: The Science of Attracting More of What You Want and Less of What You Don't, by Michael J. Losier:  This self-help book offers an easy-to-follow, step-by-step inspirational program that leads readers through the process of figuring out what they want, why they don't have it yet, and what they need to do to get it and the life they've always desired.  I've met the author personally, I attended one of his courses, and can attest for his sincerity and practical approach to the law of attraction.  
4. Law of Connection: The Science of Using NLP to Create Ideal Personal and Professional Relationships, also by Michael J. Losier:  NEW!  Release Date June 1, 2009!  Moving into the all important area of relationships, Losier, in his new book, Law of Connection, helps us learn and understand the 4 different communication styles (visual, auditory, kinesthenic, and auditory digital); learn the strengths and weaknesses of each style; and know where and when to implement which style.  Discover how to apply language strategies and recognize patterns (reframing, pacing, installing, presupposing, chunking up/down).  Become experts at building and repairing rapport.

How to learn how to do something - learn by doing

We learn through experience, by doing.  How can we learn how to do something in a systematic, results oriented manner? 

1. List clearly the topic you wish to learn or understand - write it down, think about it
2. Forget what you already know, or at least suspend previous notions about the topic - otherwise you will have a closed mind and you may not be able to add knowledge to your knowledge base
3. Take time to learn about your topic - read books, use the Internet, talk to experts
4. Figure out how you can experience that which you wish to understand
5. Initiate action that allows you to begin experiencing your chosen topic
6. During your experiencing, gain an understanding of the topic through your personal experience, don't establish a set of beliefs, just seek to understand the basic principles, this will allow you to expand on the experience, to increase your knowledge base, to unleash your creativity, and to make new discoveries
7. You now have new knowledge, new reality, something you won't soon forget

Learn by doing.

What is Prosperity?

What is prosperity?  Is prosperity all about making the big bucks?  Is it entirely a state of mind?  Here are some possible answers to these questions:  

1. Knowing the abundance in which we already live and living in abundant gratitude.
2. The experience of thriving and enjoying the richness of life.
3. Alignment with the Cosmic Intelligence.  Doing God's will.
4. Ability and capacity to increase level of service to others.
5. It's probably mental (emotional), physical (material) and spiritual (of the divine).
6. It might be both our wants and our needs.
7. Possessing information and knowledge.
8. Something to be experienced.
9. The accomplishment of a material or spiritual goal.
10. Unexpected blessings that occur at opportune moments.
11. Having good health and a well-balanced life.
12. Hearing the Inner Voice of the Cosmic.
13. The balance of all things fulfilling in life.
14. Contentment.
15. The gift of eternal life.
16. Spiritual blessings for the enrichment of others.
17. Spiritual and physical harmony with one's environment or realm.
18. Something worth sharing with others.
19. Material wealth, personal joy, happiness, peace and contentment in life.
20. Balance.
21. Taking what you need, replacing it when able.
22. Never running out of love, joy, hope, money, or other needs.
23. Choosing how to live life and having the opportunity to fulfill this choice.
24. Having enough energy to thrive.
25. Overflowing to others.  Generosity.
26. Freedom to do.
27. Freedom to give.
28. Being successful.
29. Reaching your goals.
30. Giving back.
31. Having exactly what is needed at any given time.
32. Having a spiritual experience.
33. Living in a state of satisfaction.
34. Abundance and contentment.
35. Feeling comfortable in one's own skin.
36. Achieving worth while goals without hurting anyone in the process.
37. To be one with your sisters and brothers.
38. To live in harmony and realize it.
39. Being able to afford things when you want them.
40. Having access to clean air, unpolluted water, good food, peace, religious freedom, education, health and health care, time for friends, community, family, the arts, career success, financial success, ability to share with family and give back to the community, living in harmony with the environment to the best of our ability.

Prosperity means living a brilliant and joyful life, operating at full capacity and sharing the gift of transformation with those in need. Money is good and welcome, but it is not the factor that determines happiness.

Can The Secret, Rosicrucianism and Religion Mix?

The short answer is yes. 

The principles of Rosicrucianism have been on display recently; Oprah Winfrey has featured several prominent contributors of a movement known as The Secret (see TheSecret.tv) on her program; and many people have purchased the movie and book by the same name.  The Secret practices the Rosicrucian philosophy.  Are all the Secret contributors AMORC Rosicrucians?  Probably not, but I'm not sure.  There is considerable positive buzz surrounding this newfound secret.  Oprah says of The Secret, "You will begin to understand the hidden, untapped power that's within you, and this revelation can bring joy to every aspect of your life." 

Jack Canfield, well known 'Chicken Soup for the Soul' author, and guest on the Oprah program says there are three steps to getting what you want:

1. Be very clear about what it is that you want
2. Believe that you can get it
3. Be able to receive it.

This does not mean that you produce things out of thin air.  What it does mean is that you can attract these things to you if you really want them.  You, you will put yourself in situations which will cause the circumstances you desire to manifest themselves.  You are that powerful!  Your subconscious mind will actively work out the details.

But is this paganism, or is it hocus pocus, and is it incompatible with your religion?  No.  Can you mix Rosicrucianism/The Secret with religion?  Yes.
