Notes from a Perfecting Rosicrucian

A 'perfecting Rosicrucian' is what the Rosicrucian Order (AMORC) prefers to call those who study the 'secret' or mystical teachings.  Students are not to pretend they are a 'Rosicrucian' or 'Rosie-Croix'; because as students we are always learning.  Perfecting Rosicrucians are just philosophical persons seeking wisdom, who hope to be wise enough to put what we learn into practice.  At the rate of one Monograph (study lesson) per week, it takes several years to reach the top levels of of the Rosicrucian Order.  We can't learn everything all at once.  This author has only just begun on this path of knowledge and wisdom; and I simply wish to share my experiences with you.

Making Choices you can Live with

Electricity

Everyday we make choices that can have life long or even eternal consequences.  To a certain degree, most of us are free to make choices for ourselves, and we tend to think we act in our own best interests, or the interests of others.  But do we really?

We are never free from responsibility or consequences.

Remembering this simple sentence can make all the difference in the world.  Even choosing to do something as simple such as switching on a light in your own home, has consequences and responsibilities.  The good consequence obviously, is that there is light for you to see.  But other consequences and responsibilities are a bit more involved than you may realize at first thought:

Mel Van Dusen Presents Julie Scott and The Rosicrucian Order

Julie Scott, Grand Master of the English Grand Lodge for the Americas and Director of the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum, is profoundly grateful for the ways in which the Rosicrucian Order has enriched her life.

Soror Scott is a teacher and a student. Her favorite subjects include history (especially ancient Egypt and Greece), myth, ritual, and sustainable business practices. She has a Master of Arts degree in Cultural Anthropology from the California Institute of Integral Studies and a M.B.A. from Regis University. Soror Scott most appreciates spending time in nature, including long walks on the beach and through forests

The Rosicrucian Order provides a systematic approach to the study of higher wisdom that empowers you to find the answers to your questions about the workings of the universe, the interconnectedness of all life, your higher purpose, and how it all fits together. The Rosicrucian approach provides a foundation that ties together all of the different aspects of metaphysical study, and demonstrates their interconnectedness. The Rosicrucian system translates into increasingly focused, skillful action and attainment in life.

Can The Secret, Rosicrucianism and Religion Mix?

Harvarduniv The short answer is yes.

The principles of Rosicrucianism have been on display recently; Oprah Winfrey has featured several prominent contributors of a movement known as The Secret (see TheSecret.tv) on her program; and many people have purchased the movie and book by the same name.  The Secret practices the Rosicrucian philosophy.  Are all the Secret contributors AMORC Rosicrucians?  Probably not, but I'm not sure.  There is considerable positive buzz surrounding this newfound secret.  Oprah says of The Secret, "You will begin to understand the hidden, untapped power that's within you, and this revelation can bring joy to every aspect of your life."

Jack Canfield, well known 'Chicken Soup for the Soul' author, and guest on the Oprah program says there are three steps to getting what you want:

  1. Be very clear about what it is that you want
  2. Believe that you can get it
  3. Be able to receive it.

This does not mean that you produce things out of thin air.  What it does mean is that you can attract these things to you if you really want them.  You, you will put yourself in situations which will cause the circumstances you desire to manifest themselves.  You are that powerful!  Your subconscious mind will actively work out the details.

But is this paganism, or is it hocus pocus, and is it incompatible with your religion?  No.  Can you mix Rosicrucianism/The Secret with religion?  Yes.

The Mysterious Art of Creating Inspiration

Smithmuseumnavypierchicago Studying Rosicrucian AMORC teachings may unleash dormant creative and artistic abilities we were previously unaware existed.  In every human being is the capacity to create.  Many religions believe we were created in the image of God, who is the ultimate Creator, so it is only natural for us to want to create something of profound value or inspiration.  These ancient secret teachings may inspire dreams of writing, painting, creating music, or other forms of artistic expression.  They're really not secrets at all, they're just not very well known or understood.  A perfecting Rosicrucian (also known as a student of Rosicrucianism) will learn these secrets in an amazing way.

Visualization Exercise - Creating Happiness in a Spiritual Place

Spacialvisualization There is a way for you to be happy anyplace, anytime, anywhere - at least for a few moments.  You can create a visual place in your mind where you can clear your thoughts, seek understanding, relax, think at a higher level of consciousness, know yourself better, experience true happiness, joy, and peace, and - you may even feel the very presence of God.  It's simple, but it requires your will in order to succeed.

Below is an example of one such visual place and the thought process of how it is imagined into being.  In addition to the immediate spiritual benefits of frequent journeys or meditations into this visual experience, there are other benefits that will come to you as well.  Harmony with others and with nature can be expected to increase.  Other benefits include illumination and rejuvenation, with deeper experiences developing as time goes by.

Brief Introduction to Rosicrucianism

One of the primary attractions of the Rosicrucian philosophy is the idea that we are free – free to decide who we are, what we will be, and how high we will soar.  Although we will all face obstacles, various detours, and even some limits; it’s not really about whether we can or will achieve the impossible – it’s about the choices we make on our journey.
