Is the AMORC Rosicrucian Order a secret, mystical society? Well, I suppose it is, secret in the sense that once you get to the higher levels, you're not likely to discuss what you're learning because not too many will comprehend your new knowledge. Mystical in the sense that it involves spiritual dimensions, not magic or strange or disturbing behavior.
A 'perfecting' Rosicrucian (that's the preferred term, as opposed to just 'I'm a Rosicrucian) has an appetence toward the mysteries of the universe and things of a spiritual nature. Does your cup runneth over with Love, or is it half empty? Well, if it's half empty, there's a simple solution you can implement that is guaranteed to make your cup full-full!
Professionals, and even us average citizens, believe that there must be several different kinds of love. Most of us are familiar with love in the form of paternal, reciprocal and sexual expressions. Although there may be more technical or otherwise historically correct terms for these types of love, these labels are quite sufficient for this discussion. Paternal love, obviously, is reflected in the unconditional love most parents have for their children. Reciprocal love is generally the type of love you may feel for your parents or friends, - they give, you receive - you try to give something back. Sexual love, or passion and desire; comes from emotional and physical feelings one develops when thinking of certain human beings.
A 'perfecting Rosicrucian' is what the Rosicrucian Order (AMORC) prefers to call those who study the 'secret' or mystical teachings. Students are not to pretend they are a 'Rosicrucian' or 'Rosie-Croix'; because as students we are always learning. Perfecting Rosicrucians are just philosophical persons seeking wisdom, who hope to be wise enough to put what we learn into practice. At the rate of one Monograph (study lesson) per week, it takes several years to reach the top levels of of the Rosicrucian Order. We can't learn everything all at once. This author has only just begun on this path of knowledge and wisdom; and I simply wish to share my experiences with you.
